Wedding Inspiration: High School Sweethearts Marry on Family Ranch

By

In the second grade at St. Helena Elementary School, Annie had a crush on Sam. The feeling was not mutual.

It wasn't until junior year of high school that Sam realized he had a crush on Annie, too. Their long courtship and subsequent relationship endured some hard times: Annie spent two years in the Peace Corps and Sam lived in a yurt in Austria for a year, but eventually they found themselves together in California. One night, while they were walking their dog, Diego, Sam pretended to drop his Swiss Army knife and proposed to Annie.

The ceremony and reception were held at the bride's family ranch in the hills of Napa. Invitations requested that the guests wear something blue and everything from blue socks to blue hats, blue bracelets, blue pants, and blue jellies were spotted. The ranch provided all the design and décor necessary for the joyful day and culinary inspiration came directly from the farm. Tables, crates, and barn items were all collected that morning and styled for the wedding day. After a beautiful outdoor dinner, 250 guests danced the night away, kicking up dust to the tunes of local band Pop Rocks.
