If you're looking for an all-around beach in Marin, Stinson Beach might be your best bet.
This long, iconic stretch of white sand is an ideal spot for swimmers, surfers, fishermen, volleyballers and picnickers. Generally, lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Tip: On warm days, Stinson is particularly popular and parking is at a premium in the afternoon. Arrive in the morning to scope out your spot, both in the lot and on the sand.
