Rumor Has It: Adele Strolls Through Golden Gate Park, Dines At Zazie, Hoodline

While in the Bay Area for concerts in San Jose and Oakland, international superstar Adele stayed overnight in San Francisco at an undisclosed location. Yesterday morning, she took a walk through Golden Gate Park and dined at Cole Valley's popular brunch spot Zazie. Adele has previously dined at Zazie, and during her San Jose show, she announced on stage that she "absolutely loved" it and planned to return, although she said she couldn't remember the bistro's name. Korean War Gets a Memorial in the Presidio at Last, SF Gate

Just over 63 years after a cease-fire ended the bitter and bloody Korean War, veterans finally got a memorial in San Francisco on Monday to remember a conflict that many Americans call the forgotten war. The new memorial is a long, curving piece of granite in the Presidio with pictures and plaques to recall a war that lasted three years and cost more than 37,000 American dead and many thousands more Korean and Chinese lives.Read more.

Millennium Tower Is Tilting, Sinking, SF Curbed

The Millennium Tower, located in Yerba Buena next to the Transbay and Salesforce Tower constructions, is a symbol of the new San Francisco wealth. The tony high-rise, currently offering the most expensive one-bedroom in the city, houses such luminaries as Hunter Pence, Joe Montana, and a slew of tech brethren. The building is also sinking. In fact, there stands several reasons why the Millennium is sinking—for starters, it's not steel-framed and instead uses a concrete design. Google Chefs to Start Feeding Employees 'Shrimp' Made From Algae, SFist

Google/Alphabet's fancy on-campus cafeterias are about to get a whole lot more cutting edge in the realm of futuristic foodstuffs. According to Wired, starting in 2017, Google chefs have pledged to start serving employees synthetic shrimp made from algae. Shrimp is the most popular seafood in the US, but it just so happens to be terrible for both the environment and the slaves forced to peel them. That's where New Wave Foods comes in.Read more.

Olympics Preview: Cal Athletes Aim to Make a Splash and Score in Rio Games, Cal Alumni Association

With so many world-class athletes, UC Berkeley is always well represented at the Olympics. The joke in 2012 was that if Cal were its own country (and isn't it, in its own way?), it would have tied for sixth in the world for the number of gold medals won. That number was 11, by the way. This summer, expect to see a few dozen current and former Golden Bear athletes competing in Rio, both under the U.S. banner and for other countries. Here are few to watch—especially for fans planning to watch the Olympic Trials still being contested.
