Coming Soon: Downtown Napa to Open New Shopping + Mixed-Use Development This Fall

By

Tasting the latest estate-grown chardonnay, picking up bottles of fine cabernet and picnicking on the grounds of beautiful wineries are the reasons most people can't get enough of Napa. Come late fall, however, shopping may give sipping a run for its money—that's when First Street Napa debuts.

The $200 million, 325,000-square-foot development, spanning three city blocks along First Street, is considered a landmark development for the downtown area. "First Street Napa is at the forefront of Downtown Napa's dynamic regeneration, bringing best-in-class retail and some of the finest culinary experiences to the area," says Todd Zapolski, principal of Zapolski Real Estate, LLC. "Our overarching goal is to deliver a special shopping experience to the Napa Valley."

While there's no opening date confirmed yet, here's what we know so far.

SHOPPING

Located adjacent to the forthcoming Archer Hotel, First Street Napa will feature 45 boutiques, including local artisans and national brands selling everything from modern clothing to home furnishings. Right now, there are three confirmed retail tenants: Lush Cosmetics, Napa Valley Jewelers and the headliner, Maris Collective, which is the first store scheduled to open.

RESTAURANTS

Adding to Napa's embarrassment of culinary riches will be several new chef-driven gourmet restaurants and at least one wine bar, Compline. The unifying theme? Seasonal menus using fine ingredients from select local purveyors (shocker). Charlie Palmer Steak is the only restaurant name we can confirm at this time. Located in the Archer Hotel, it will be led by executive chef Jeffrey Russell. The menu will be overseen by Palmer himself, a Michelin-starred chef/restaurateur.

HOTEL

Rising five stories with stunning 360-degree views of the Napa Valley, Archer Hotel Napa will be the tallest building in the area. The boutique property will be home to 143 guest rooms and 40 suites with private balconies and/or fireplaces. Additional amenities include a destination rooftop bar, outdoor fire pits, a luxurious infinity pool, private cabanas and a wellness spa.

Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to showtime. // firststreetnapa.com
