Dancing In The Streets: Katie Faulkner and Little Seismic Dance Company

By

Intrinsic internal questions tend to stay internal. But no more. Choreographer Katie Faulkner and multimedia artist Michael Trigilio lead little seismic dance company in We Don't Belong Here, a new public performance project that plays very physically with ideas of belonging and finding your place in the world.

Hot on the local dance scene right now, Katie Faulkner is winning awards and sending her work around the country. Trigilio is a former Zen Buddhist priest and founder of Neighborhood Public Radio, part of the 2008 Whitney Biennial exhibition. Their collaboration blends movement, video, and sound, sending twenty dancers to the San Francisco streets to kinesthetically explore questions like, Do I belong in this relationship? This job? This nursing home? This body?

Through October 9. Union Square and Yerba Buena Lane. Free. Info at dancersgroup.org.
