1. Trick Dog Opens: Multiple years in the making, the new bar from Hot 30 recipients the Bon Vivants (which shares the Central Kitchen and Salumeria space at 20th and Florida) is a custom-designed labor of love. The Bon Vivants, who also own SOMA's Rio Grande and devised the cocktail menus for everywhere from Quince to Comal, took inspiration from the Pantone color palette for their own menu, with offerings like the Pantone 7621 (bourbon, Combier, Kummel, beet juice, ginger and lemon) and the Baby Turtle (left; tequila, Campari, grapefruit, cinnamon, lime, egg white). There's also a menu of highballs and non-alcoholic drinks, plus beer and wine. The kitchen is open until 2 am, serving eclectic bar food like fried pork belly bites, kale salad, and Scotch eggs-- you'll never be without a classy late-night bite in the Mission again. (Daily, 3 pm-2 am, 3010 20th St., Mission.)
2. AlphaBar Social Club: If you've been meaning to check out SF's booming bar scene but don't know where to start, consider joining up with AlphaBar. Every other week, they'll go through the alphabet bar by bar (starting with A, for Abbey Tavern), making friends and raising money for charity along the way. Get a membership card and collect punches to earn prizes, and maybe make some new friends to boot. More info here. (Tonight, 8 pm-12 am, at Abbey Tavern, 4100 Geary Blvd., Inner Richmond.)
3. National Hot Toddy Day: This Friday is National Hot Toddy Day, and with temperatures in the 50s and cold and flu season in full swing, we're sure you can think of a reason to get your hands around a mug of hot whiskey. Blackbird in the Castro is offering a $6 Earl Grey toddy with single-barrel bourbon and Earl Grey syrup, while nearby Elixir in the Mission is knocking $2 off their house hot toddy (now $8) with Buffalo Trace bourbon. You'll feel better in no time. (Friday, January 11, all day, at Blackbird, 2124 Market St., Castro, and Elixir, 3200 16th St., Mission.)
4. Moet & Chandon Red Carpet Masquerade: Gozas, which aims to fuse music, art, and fashion, is kicking off 2013 with a classic costume party, with attendees encouraged to wear their most dapper attire and hide their secret identities behind a mask. DJs will spin house and hip-hop, go-go dancers will work the floor, and Moet & Chandon will offer specials on champagne. If you don't have a mask of your own, show up early: the first 100 attendees will get a free one. Tickets are $10. (Saturday, January 12, 10 pm, at Supperclub, 657 Harrison St., SOMA.)
5. Drink Specials at Azucar Lounge: There's a drink special nearly every day of the week at SOMA's Azucar Lounge. Sundays feature bottomless sangria for $15 per person all day long, Mondays bring all-night happy hour with a $7 beer and shot special and $1 off other drinks, and Taco Tuesday features $10 unlimited tacos and $4 house margaritas. The rest of the week features the same happy hour deals as Monday until 7 pm. Collect them all! (Monday-Thursday, 4 pm-12 am, Friday-Saturday, 4 pm-2 am, Sunday, 11 am-3 pm, 4 pm-12 am, at Azucar Lounge, 299 9th St., SOMA.)
