The Cheese School of San Francisco has set up their cheese-filled summer classes! Kick off the summer with their Cheese & Wine of the Loire Valley class, where you’ll pair French wines with spring cheeses. If you’re not free that night, don’t fret — the Cheese School has multiple classes every week throughout the summer. They even have two special classes for dads this weekend (involving, what else? Friday, June 14
BottleRock is long over, but for a more mellow time of food, wine, and music, head to Sonoma for the Huichica Music Festival. The all day happening occurs over two days with twelve awesome indie bands (like Blitzen Trapper, Floating Action, and Damien Jurado), complimentary tastings, and food provided by a range of local vendors. If you’re up to walk for your food, join Gourmet San Francisco as they tour through Hayes Valley tasting fine tea, sake, and gourmet cheeses all while learning about the history of the area and how it combines Zen with caffeine. The small town of Windsor celebrates summer with their third annual Wine & Oyster Festival. Special guest Windsor Vineyards winemaker Nancy Walker will be on hand while you enjoy a flight of chilled wines and a half dozen Tomales Bay oysters. SOMArts have announced the literary and culinary guests of their delicious literary event, Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck. Feast of Words will be featuring Troy Gelobter, who will be reading from her play “The Penis Monologues,” while SOMArts provides the potluck.
