Gifts That Give Back to the SF SPCA

By

The SF SPCA loves gifts that give back. This holiday season, consider giving gifts that not only delight, but also make a difference in your community.

1 & 2. Kerri Lehmann's Rocks with Soul

Fine jewelry with a conscious is one of our favorite things. 10 percent of sales from the website go to beneficiaries, such as the SF SPCA.

3. Sconset Sweetreets

Proving you are never too young to start helping your community, 16 year old Jenny Golden started Sconset Sweetreets to benefit her favorite charities.  At the moment, 100% of the profits go to the SF SPCA. These delectable cookies are addictive, so be warned (and buy plenty!) You can find Sconset Sweetreets at the following stores: Sue Fisher King: 3067 Sacramento St, San Francisco; Bryan’s Market: 3445 California St, San Francisco; Comforts Café: 335 San Anselmo Ave, San Anselmo.

glassbaby, which just opened a San Francisco store, has designated the SF SPCA as the beneficiary of sales of the beautiful 'friendship' votive. When lit, the handblown glass gives off an ethereal glow- simply lovely. These make thoughtful gifts and will add a sumptuous warmth to your holiday table. Visit the store at 3665 Sacrament St or order online.

5-7. JD Wilson Paintings

If you went to the recent Jay Farrar performance at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley, you got a preview of the art at auction benefitting the Utley Foundation and SF SPCA. You can find the pieces here, available for sale (with a holiday discount- so check these out pronto!) JD Wilson is a San Francisco-based contemporary painter. He specializes in "Pop Symbology." JD's work is in the permanent collections of notable collectors Julian Schnabel & Olga Hirschorn. He studied at the Corcoran College of Art in Washington, DC, SCAD (Savannah, GA), SACI (Florence, Italy). JD shows regularly in galleries and museums around the United States and Europe. You want these in your collection! All work delivered free within 50 miles of San Francisco.

Maybe someone you know has a dog that could use a brush up on manners? Or maybe tricks are on the bucket list for 2014? The San Francisco SPCA offers classes ranging from beginners to experts, puppies to rally dogs, and now outdoor classes too!  Give the gift of good behavior to all of your four-legged friends.
