Beautiful, sunny weather shone upon the 2,000 amateur and professional athletes who braved the 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz to the Marina Green. From the Marina, they took an 18-mile bike ride through hilly SF and finished it off with an 8-mile run that included the famous sand ladder at Baker Beach. Andy Potts of Colorado Springs won today for the 5th time setting a course record for the most ever won by a male. Leanda Cave won for the women.
