Holiday Boat Parade

Instead of driving around neighborhoods gawking at festively decorated homes, head up to San Rafael for a cool, one-of-a-kind experience. The city unofficially celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual lighted boat parade in the San Rafael Canal. Boaters throughout Marin devote countless hours preparing their vessels for what has become one of the largest lighted boat parades in the Bay Area. The recommended viewing locations include the Pickleweed Community Center, Beach Park, along the Canal area at the Montecito Plaza. Sun. 12/8, parade starts at 5:30 to roughly 7 p.m. Click here for more info.
