What: This weekend the fittest and most competitive among us will take to the streets in the ultimate endurance test. If you weren't strong-soled enough to register for the event, you can still stand on the sidelines and cheer as runners pass numerous landmarks—think the Ferry Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, and even AT&T Park—on a fast-paced tour of the city.
When: The first of 26.2 miles begins at 5:30am on Sunday, July 26.
Where: Catch a glimpse of the athletes as they run from the Ferry Building, past Fisherman's Wharf and across the Golden Gate Bridge, down Ocean Beach, through Golden Gate Park, down Haight, through the Mission, Potrero, and Mission Bay, towards AT&T Park, and finally under the Bay Bridge on the way back to the Ferry Building. San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
What: The 35th Annual Jewish Film Festival is an ode to the Jewish identity, celebrated through the medium of film. This year's fest features 70 films from 16 countries, spanning genres from documentaries to social justice to Big Night film events. The opening night film, entitled Dough, tells the story of a third generation Kosher baker's attempt to keep his bakery afloat with the help of his Muslim apprentice.
When: The festival opens on Thursday, July 23 at 6:15pm with a screening of Dough at the Castro Theater followed by an Opening Night bash. The two week long festival runs through August 9. A full schedule of the diverse offerings can be found here.
Where: Several iconic theaters all across the bay host the screenings, including the Castro Theater and the California in Berkeley. Other venues include Public Works SF, CineArts in Palo Alto, the Lakeside Theater in Oakland, the Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum.

Headlands Center for the Arts Summer Open House
What: Head across the Golden Gate to the beautiful Headlands Center for the Arts in the middle of the rolling hills and gorgeous beaches of the Marin Headlands. The Center hosts its annual summer open house this weekend, allowing visitors to chat with artists and see in-progress as well as completed works. Several readings by local artists and a housemade lunch in the Mess Hall cap off the unique opportunity to roam the entire Center and be inspired by the gifts of local painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, and filmmakers.
When: The center opens its doors from noon to 5pm on Sunday, July 26. Find a schedule of the day's events here.
Where: The Headlands Center for the Arts is located just a few minutes away from sweeping views of the Golden Gate at 944 Simmonds Road, Sausalito.

Pedalfest in Jack London Square
What: Jack London Square is hosting an all-day event celebrating the transportation method of choice for many urban dwellers. The event features a pedal-powered sound stage, biking stunt shows, and, of course, food and booze.
When: Roll on over to the festival from 11am-7pm on Saturday, July 25.
Where: Jack London Square, at Broadway and Embarcadero in Oakland, will host the biggest cyclist gathering this side of Critical Mass.

The Spy Who Loved Me at the San Francisco Symphony
What: The SF Symphony takes on the music that provided suspense and intrigue to the dashing, famous spy's film exploits. Grammy Award-winning Sheena Easton provides vocal flare to the Symphony's take on 007's background tracks.
When: Grab a martini shaken (not stirred) before the show at 7:30pm on Thursday, July 23.
Where: Davies Symphony Hall at 201 Van Ness Ave provides the venue for a thrilling night of music.
