For those who don't frequent SF's Marina District, Stock in Trade is a restaurant bar on Lombard Street that boasts a line out the door pretty much all weekend. The San Francisco tavern features American cuisine, a 40-seat bar, elevated ceilings, and an indoor bocce court.
Head Chef Campbell Barbee, a veteran in the Marina district (Balboa Cafe), favors notable classics like The Tavern Burger, Rib-Eye Steak, and house-made Meatballs. However, the new spring menu has emerged with fun new sharable items like Pesto Gnocchi, Charcuterie Board, and Ahi Tuna Tacos. Count us in.
Brunch has been pretty much packed since day one, featuring hearty fare like the California Breakfast Burrito and Huevos Rancheros. Excellent post night out food. There are also plenty of TV's for the games and lots of action on the bocce court.
The laid-back and comfortable scene during the week is perfect for a date night in the dining room or a Giants game at the bar. Keep Stock in Trade in mind when planning your next plus-size dinner party because there's a private dining room in the rear of the restaurant that holds up to 50 guests. It features a private bar and some of the original bull-heads from the old La Barca days, too!
The main bar features over 10 specialty cocktails, 12 beers on-tap, 10 wines by the glass (8 on tap), and a 40-bottle wine list that includes classic Napa juice like Jordan Cabernet, but also has some serious international wines like a Gaja Super-Tuscan and a Chassagne-Montrachet.
