Every writer, photographer or artist of any type has a dream assignment: that often unreachable goal that could only be potentially accomplished with unlimited funds (or at least a large chunk of change). Well, now all those with a panache for photography have the chance to turn the dream into a reality.
Yesterday, the Name Your Dream contest kicked off, allowing "any resident of the United States who has a camera and a dream" with any background to submit the most creative photoshoot proposal that will fall under a $50,000 umbrella (including travel costs). There are no further limitations, and entrants can submit up to three ideas via the Name Your Dream website and don't even have to include images with their proposal (though the 20 finalists will need proof that they can produce a decent digital image). For the next month, the public can vote on the best proposal, and the top 20 vote-getters will then be judged by a panel of experts.
The winner will receive a generous $50,000 to carry out his or her dream assignment, plus a digital camcorder and the Lenovo® ThinkPad® W700ds. Two runners-up will also receive the Lenovo® ThinkPad® W700ds.
The deadline is April 3, so get thinking!
