Drink Here Now: 5 Places to Sip This Week
1. Two Sisters Gets a Liquor License: Two Sisters, the charming, sibling-run Hayes Valley gastropub and lending library, has finally snagged a liquor license. With the help of bartender Michael Cicconi, they've devised a cocktail menu that includes four different kinds of Manhattans-- perfect for sipping alongside some savory bread pudding on a winter evening. (Tuesday-Thursday 4-11 pm, Friday 4 pm-12 am, Saturday, 1 pm-12 am, and Sunday, 11 am-10 pm; 579 Hayes St., Hayes Valley.)
2. Murio's Trophy Room Re-Opens: The famously surly regulars of Upper Haight dive Murio's have had to relocate over the past few months, as the bar underwent a top-to-bottom renovation. The Elks lodge-style decor of the past has gone modern-Moroccan, with tufted banquettes, zigzag-patterned walls, and lacy light fixtures above the bar. The drink menu is heavy on local beer and wine and straightforward cocktails, although fans of the old Murio's will be pleased to note that neither the jukebox nor the cans of PBR have left the building. (Daily, 11 am-2 am; 1811 Haight St., Upper Haight.)
3. MO Bar's Farewell Party: After 25 years of service, the Mandarian Oriental downtown is closing up the MO Bar for renovations and reconcepting. Before they close the doors, though, they're throwing a goodbye party with $5 wine and cocktail specials, bubbly, and a few handcrafted seasonal drinks. Whether you're a longtime patron or have never been, it's an opportunity to visit a normally swanky lounge on the cheap. (Thursday, January 12, 5-11 pm, at MO Bar, Mandarin Oriental San Francisco, 222 Sansome St., Financial District.)
4. B Bar Goes Bottomless at Brunch: Take advantage of the unusually pleasant January weather with a weekend brunch trip to B Bar, which overlooks the Yerba Buena Gardens. They're offering unlimited bloody marys and mimosas for $12, alongside dishes like a delicata squash Benedict, a bacon and mushroom scramble, and their signature burger. (Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 am-3:30 pm, at B Bar, 720 Howard St., SOMA.)
5. Free Drinks from Scoutmob at Bliss Bar: No plans tonight? Head over to Scoutmob's event at Bliss Bar, where representatives of the local-deals app will buy you a cosmopolitan in exchange for your downloading it to your phone in front of them. App in hand, you can use Scoutmob's deal at Bliss, which goes live on Thursday morning, to get 50% off your bar tab on a future visit through July 14th (happy hour excluded). (Wednesday, January 11, 9-11 pm, at Bliss Bar, 4026 24th St., Noe Valley.)
