Drink Here Now: 5 Places to Sip This Week

By

1. O3 Bistro & Lounge Launches Cocktail Menu: The Ozone Thai empire has added a third, more upscale restaurant to its lineup, appropriately named O3. The focus here is more Asian-fusion than Thai, with bar bites like braised oxtail tacos and a miso Caesar salad, and drinks like a wasabi Bloody Mary or the Far East Capirinha ($12), a mixture of rum, sake, lychee puree, chili, and lemongrass, topped with vanilla, lemon juice, and champagne. The upscale atmosphere makes it a nice stop before or after a show in the Civic Center area. (Monday-Wednesday, 11 am-11 pm, Thursday-Saturday, 11 am-2 am, 524 Van Ness Ave., Civic Center.)

2. Valentine's Party at Photobooth: Want to show a little love to the community this Valentine's Day? The slick Mission shop Photobooth, which sells camera equipment and does 1850s-style tintype portraits, is hosting a fundraiser for the Creative Arts Charter School, damaged in December's fire in Alamo Square. The $20 admission all goes to the school, and attendees will get free Haamoni shochu cocktails from mixologist Claire Byrd, live music, and the opportunity to take a special couple's tintype photo on a Georges Melies-esque moon (pictured above, $75). RSVP here. (Thursday, February 9, 7-10 pm, at Photobooth SF, 1193 Valencia St., Mission.)

3. Mid Riff Microhood Party: The Bold Italic is hosting another of their popular microhood events; this go-round, they're focusing on Market Street between 6th and 7th, an area they've dubbed the "Mid Riff." Deals include a $10 sausage, fries, and beer combo at Show Dogs, free mimosas at Archetype Boutique, and cheap drinks to pair with gratis Ike's Place bites at Club Six. RSVP here so they can get an accurate head count. (Thursday, February 9, 6-8 pm, at Market St. and 6th St., Mid-Market.)

4. Mardi Gras at Icon Ultra Lounge: You may not be able to roll with a New Orleans krewe, but you can get appropriately blasted and beaded at Icon Ultra Lounge's pre-Fat Tuesday celebration. Admission is free before 11 when you RSVP, and they'll have an open bar with well drinks until 10:30, and $5 Grey Goose specials until 11. Once you're fueled up, grab some free beads and dance to hip-hop from DJ A-One and DJ Vic. (Friday, February 10, 10 pm-2 am, at Icon Ultra Lounge, 1192 Folsom St., SOMA.)

5. Mission Minis Anniversary Bash: Mini-cupcake purveyor Mission Minis turns two years old this week, and they're hosting a food truck gathering outside their shop, with free cupcakes and drinks being offered inside. Score an Aztec chocolate or cinnamon horchata cake and a libation, then head over to Brass Knuckle, We Sushi, or Mama's Empanadas to have dinner after your dessert. (Saturday, February 11, 7 pm until they run out, at Mission Minis, 3168 22nd St., Mission.)
