Beauty junkies: get dolled up at Makeup Gourmet on Friday

By

Beauty junkies, you can end the week with a much-needed fix on Friday, thanks to an opening bash taking place at SoMa’s Makeup Gourmet studio.

The new space is the first studio location from beauty industry veteran Chris Scott, whose previous credits include hosting the Makeup Gourmet cable TV show, a decade running San Francisco’s Theatre Forte and years as a national makeup artist for Chanel.

After eight years offering on-location makeup services to everyone from Bay Area brides to celebrities such as Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott moved into his 1,700-square-foot space in February and is finally throwing a party to celebrate.

“It’s a whole different concept to have a space,” says Scott, who will now be able to host beauty-driven pre-event parties and birthdays for clients, as well as photo sessions and commercial shoots, alongside his makeup application services and lessons (which typically will run you $50/hour).

Along with a chance to check out the appointment-only space, Friday’s event will feature live body art makeup demonstrations, a false eyelash bar, makeup and hair demonstrations, ongoing photo shoots, drinks, nibbles and a dance party starting at 8 p.m.

Next up from Makeup Gourmet? A series of step-by-step beauty videos, due out later this year.

Makeup Gourmet opening party, Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., 236 8th St., Suite F, SF. RSVP in advance to info (at) makeupgourmet (dot) com.
