Scenes of the City: SF Free Fishing Day

Saturday September 3rd was free fishing day all over the city, pictured above is the mid-afternoon scene at Ocean Beach.

With the golden Gate looming in the fog in the background a man throws his crab pot off the pier near Fort Point.

For this week's Scenes of the City we hung around the SF coastline visiting different docks, beaches and piers capturing the license free day of fishing.

The sun came out for a little bit in the shadow of the Bay Bridge at the parking lot/ pier at Java House on the Embarcadero.

A young man shows off his catch at Aquatic Park where Van Ness runs into SF Bay.

A pelican sits waiting for a easy meal on the pier near Fort Point.

With Alcatraz in the back ground crab pot lines stretch into the water near Aquatic Park.

Fishermen line up ear the Bay Bridge trying to catch some striped bass.

Two boys work together to bring up their crab pot at Aquatic Park.

Saturday was one of the two days every year that no rules or regulations apply, except for a few locations and species. For more info check out this link.

We didn't see a whole lot of caught fish, mostly crab, but everyone was out having a good time.
