Shop Talk: Bite Beauty and Furla Open in SF + Warby Parker Takes Palo Alto

"Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football. Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to death, and the ecstasy of the purchase."―Erma Bombeck

Bite Beauty Lip Lab Lands on Fillmore (Mwah!)

Score another one for Beauty Row! Just days ago, Fillmore Street welcomed yet another cult-fave brand to the hood. No ordinary natural and organic makeup joint, Bite Beauty Lip Lab's raison d'être is creating custom lip colors for discerning puckers. There are two ways to achieve this: A La Carte, where you choose a shade from a palette of 200 colors, pick your finish (glossy sheer, matte cream, Amuse Bouche) and all-natural scent, including cherry, vanilla, mango and more. Option two, Custom Lip, ups the ante as you collaborate with a Lab artist to create a truly unique lippie that's for your pout alone. Yes, you can name it, too—and the whole thing takes about 15 minutes. With this opening, we think the mourning period for previous tenant Marc by Marc Jacobs should officially end. After all, time and lipstick heal all, right? // A La Carte is $55 for one lipstick, 2 for $80. Custom Lip is $150 for two lip colors and a lip kit. Appointments are recommended although walk-ins are welcome. 2142 Fillmore St. (Pacific Heights), bitebeauty.com

Furla Fans: Get Thee to Union Square…

And shop the first and only West Coast location of the fine Italian accessories brand. The recently opened, sparkling 1,000-square-foot digs, once occupied by Dior Homme, exudes luxury, making it the perfect backdrop for the label's sumptuous leather bags, wallets, shoes and jewelry for women and men. Full disclosure: Furla's billing its new SF home as a pop-up, but the lease is for a year—and a well-informed birdie told us a permanent boutique is a distinct possibility. (Fingers crossed.) // 216 Stockton St. (Union Square), furla.com

Argent Pops Up at One Market in SF

One of our favorite fashion darlings of 2016 Argent—known for smart workwear with a cheeky side—has set up temporary shop in the lobby of San Francisco's One Market building through the end of December. Get up and close and personal with the local label's signature pantsuits, jumpsuits dresses and more. Sure, you could shop for the #girlboss on your list; or, make this one all about your own closet (that's our plan, anyway). // Store hours 9am–6pm through December, 1 Market St. (Embarcadero), argentwork.com

See Ya Soon in Palo Alto, Warby Parker

Fans of the geek-chic, affordable eyewear brand will have one more place to try on (take off, try on...) frames in the Bay Area when the downtown Palo Alto boutique opens its doors on Monday, December 26. (SF's Hayes Valley and San Jose are home to the other stores.)

The building's a beauty: A Spanish Colonial Revival built in 1927, and features a pair of arched entryways, checkered terrazzo floors and comfy leather chairs. Of course, Warby's full collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses is the main draw. To celebrate, WP designed a pair of Palo Alto-exclusive sunnies: Barkley, a classic black frame with blue lenses. // 555 Ramona St. (Palo Alto), warbyparker.com
