PaintZen, the Uber for Painting, Launches in SF

By

Uber has become so commonplace, it’s now a verb. And you’re about to uber that pesky paint job you’ve been putting off due to lack of time, supplies, or…any skill at painting anything. Dying for a chevron study or chalkboard accent wall in your kitchen? By sourcing quality painters and handling the legwork, PaintZen can make your liquid décor dreams come true.

Whether it’s sprucing up your rental or customizing your corner office, it’s hard to know where to start, but rather than scouring Yelp or stalking your neighbors for a recommendation, only to get an overpriced quote and shotty job, PaintZen does the heavy lifting for you—and, here’s the kicker: guarantees a job well done. Based in NYC, they launched in SF this fall and will no doubt see traction among the on-demand service lovers this city fosters.

I got to try out the service first-hand when transitioning our man cave/tv room into a nursery for future Baby Bailey, and even with a hiccup or two, we’re psyched with the results and almost zero effort compared to other home improvement projects. All you need to do is enter the information about your job (how many rooms, do you have moulding, etc.) into their quote generator, and someone will call you back tout-de-suite (my phone was ringing in less than 5 minutes) to confirm the details and set up the job. You can either pick up your own paint, or have PaintZen do it for you (they work with Benjamin Moore’s palette, which in my unofficial opinion, is the best anyway). Paint, supplies, insurance, tax, and tip are all included in the price, so there are no surprises.

Our painters were scheduled within days, and when the first job wasn’t quite up to snuff, PaintZen scheduled a revisit in record time and made good on their promise to make us happy. One week after the initial quote, and our walls (and ceiling) were screaming with joy. By handling the logistics and the hard work, we just had to open the door and let the magic happen.
