Music junkies, mark your concert calendars. Noise Pop returns this February, with 10 days of independent films, music, and art taking over venues across the city.

Known for booking the next best things in indie rock, pop, and synth, Noise Pop’s headliners this year include Caribou, Slow Magic, and SF’s very own Cathedrals, who play their first show at the Independent on February 28.

Since their EP release last September, the electro-pop duo (Johnny Hwin, 29, and Brodie Jenkins, 27) has been traveling the festival circuit, which includes a celebrated performance at last summer’s Treasure Island Music Festival—their debut jam, “Harlem,” is still stuck in our heads—and a highly anticipated show next month at SXSW in Austin. But it’s the thought of bringing their grandiose sound and orchestral influences (think Tycho meets Lana Del Ray) to SF’s legendary venue that’s got them totally psyched. “Every musician aspires to play Noise Pop,” says Hwin. “It’s a festival for the best of the best.”
