First Taste: Hotel Via does booze and bites with a view by the ballpark

By

Listen up baseball fans, SoMa dwellers, and cocktail connoisseurs: Hotel Via is now serving tipples and grub at Bar Via and The Rooftop at Via, which has cabanas and killer views (and space heaters).

The new hotel is a baseball's throw from AT&T Park and is primed for pre- and post-game partying at two new venues. The action will be upstairs at The Rooftop, where reservable cabanas (exclusive to hotel guests and private events) and 360-degree vistas of the San Francisco skyline promise a full house when the weather's nice. If a staycation at the hotel isn't in the budget (rooms start at $279/night on weekends), you can still grab the same menu of cool cocktails and light California fare, as well as stadium-inspired eats on game days, at sister venue Bar Via around the corner.

The interior is sleek, dominated by a custom light sculpture created by SF-based Hybycozo (they also crated the installation currently at Hayes Valley's Patricia's Green) and floor-to-ceiling windows that drench the space with natural light.
