If you're craving Indian food in any form, this is the week for it.
• Tomorrow, there are two big Indian goings-on. Take your pick:
West Bengal-native Auntie Jharna and chef Roger of Soul Cocina are hosting an Indian cooking class, where you'll learn to cook the likes of chicken kofta meatballs, saag paneer and sabudana vada with curry leaf and coconut. Then there's Tablehopper's Indian Street Food event being held at Dosa on Fillmore. Tastes will include pani puri, lamb frankies and vada pav. June 19, 12-3 $45, nine courses with wine; buy tickets here
• Next weekend, Niloufer King, author of My Bombay Kitchen, will be cooking up an international brunch at Foreign Cinema. Although the menu will include all sorts of global influences, King, of course, is best known for her passion for Indian food, so make sure to order the keema turnovers with your bloody mary. • Should you want to experience your Indian fix in the comforts of your own home, call up Green Coriander, a service delivering healthy, homecooked organic Indian food such as mint curry chicken or chana masala. The menu changes weekly but the best part is that if you live in the Inner Misison, Outer Mission, SOMA, South Beach or Fi-Di, they'll deliver on a bike for $3 with no minimum order. Now that's pretty cool.
• Finally, if you're inspired by all of this, so much that you want to start cooking up some Indian on your own, there's a nice new Indian market in the Western Addition called Jai Ho. Check it out.
