If money were no object, we could easily live on top of the world at 181 Fremont, the tallest residential building on the West Coast, situated in San Francisco's SoMa.

But we wouldn't want just any apartment. We would want the turnkey Unit 68B, which of course has all the unobstructed bird's eye views we could want but also comes with all the art and furnishings inside, curated by SF's own Kendall Wilkinson, whose portfolio is mostly chichi residential but can also be seen at the local restaurant Bellota.

Perched 500 feet above Rincon Hill and spanning 3,256 square feet, the condominium has an open plan hugged by walls of glass in the living room, dining room, and kitchen, all of which make excellent spots to bask in the sunlight by day and catch the sunset at day's end.

Sleek and minimalist, the cooking space is clad in Brazilian Macaubas quartzite countertops, custom Italian cabinetry, Miele and SubZero appliances, and a sweet view of the Bay Bridge. The living spaces are softer, furnished by Wilkinson in curvaceous sofas and plush velvet chairs in a soothing palette with pops of rich jewel tones. There are moments of whimsy throughout, as in the bright orange leather on the counter stools in the kitchen and geometric and painterly patterns.

The master bedroom is quieter and elegant with cozy furnishings, an upholstered headboard wall, and romantic purple accents. We would sigh with deep content stepping foot each morning on the bathroom's heated marble floors before dipping into the soaking tub surrounded by full-height Arabescato Corchia marble walls and skyline views. There is also a standalone shower and dual vanity here.

Sure, the HOA dues alone could rent us a pretty decent apartment in the city, but we'd miss out on all the luxurious amenities, including access to the fitness center, yoga room, and Wilkinson-designed Residents' Club with its fireside gathering area, catering kitchen, and multiple lounges and piano bar. A wraparound observation terrace with 360 degree views of San Francisco is an apropos finishing touch.
