7x7 Internship and Job Opportunities

We are always on the lookout for competent, savvy, knowledgeable freelance writers who know how to fact check, spell check, and adhere to a deadline. If you want to write for us, email with three links to published writing samples, three pitches, and the subject line "Freelance Writer."

Our immediate needs include:

Style + Design - Are you tapped into the Bay Area's stylish set? Do you have local designers sharing their latest work with you? We want you to write for us.

Tech + Gadgets - Have your eye on the Bay Area start up scene? Are you in the know of up-and-coming innovations before anyone else? We want you to write for us.

7x7 is currently seeking interns for the June-September 2014 semester. Interns are part of a small editorial team and work very closely with staff. They assist with research, fact checking, creating blog posts, administrative tasks, and general editorial assistance. You’ll have a chance to work with both our print and online departments and will be exposed to many different aspects of working in publishing. If you’re hip to what’s happening all over SF and are a student currently enrolled in classes, you could be a part of our team.

7x7 offers three internship cycles: January - June, June - September, September - December. The positions are unpaid and require a commitment of 20-25 hours/week on site at our SOMA office. Potential candidates must be enrolled university students living in the Bay Area who will receive course credit for the internship. Unfortuantely, we cannot accept remote applicants or applicants who are no longer enrolled in school.

To Apply: Send an email to Sarah Lee at with a brief description of why you’d be an excellent intern at 7x7. Also include a resume, a letter of recommendation, and three relevant writing samples in the body of the e-mail. Please do NOT send attachments.

We look forward to hearing from you!
