The Anarchist Book Fair Comes to Golden Gate Park This Weekend

If modern politics increasingly make you cringe, head down to the Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair this weekend to soak up some radicalness.

Presented by Haight Street alt haven Bound Together Anarchist Collective Bookstore, this annual event on April 9th and 10th draws in both inquisitive minds and steadfast believers alike to the SF County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park for radical speakers (including Rebecca Solnit and Beat icon Diane Di Prima), authors and panel discussions about everything from crime in the city to "the politics of sci-fi."
For the more visually-inclined, there will be a street-art inspired art exhibition. They'll serve you dinner at their cafe (at 225 Potrero Avenue) on Friday night (April 8) to prep you for the book fair the next day. Yummies will be provided by Arizmendi Bakery and are by donation only.

And of course, it's not all so serious. Their after-party, entitled "Sew Fast, Sew Furious", will take place this Saturday night at the new community space Social Fabric and serves up DJs and dancing, live sewing competitions (!), bands and kimchi tacos. The festivities take place in The SchoolHouse at 1592 Market Street at Franklin at 9 pm.
