Napa Valley's Best Dog-Friendly Wineries

My pup, Leo, at Peju

These days you can bring your pup just about anywhere, and Napa is no exception. There are more than 90 dog-friendly wineries in the valley, with bowls of water and treats next to many a tasting room counter. Here's a list of some of my favorites, based on their attitude towards pups, overall experience and quality of wine.

Marston Family Vineyards
is way up at the top of Spring Mountain but it’s worth making an appointment and getting off the beaten-path to enjoy this historic winery and their hand-crafted wines. Dog-friendly they certainly are, and you should make sure you are too, because you’ll likely be greeted by their rambunctious and friendly Lab, Tucker, who will take your dog on a tour of the vines while you meet the family and taste the wines.

St. Supery
is directly off highway 29 but set back far enough to give you and your pup plenty of space to roam around before taking their self-guided tour. The tasting room has a few breakables, so I recommend buying your favorite bottle after a quick tasting and sitting at one of their comfortable tables outside in the shade with your dog and your friends.

Honig
never disappoints, whether you are with or without dog. Youthful, laid back and stylish, Honig's tasting lounge is in the middle of a vineyard and comfortably set up for you and your furry friend.

Tres Sabores
is friendly to dogs, sheep, Guinea hens and just about every other farm animal you can imagine. This family-owned winery is a celebrated leader in biodynamic farming. You’ll likely meet the owner and winemaker while you’re here, who will take you on a tour of their caves and introduce you to the farm animals before tasting in their barrel room or relaxing with a bottle at their vineyard picnic benches.

Pine Ridge
is ushering in a new era with a celebrated new winemaker and all kinds of fun outdoor summer programs; including appellation tastings, cabernet tasting lessons and public picnic areas where you and your pup can relax and take in the mountainside beauty at this Napa Valley staple.

B Cellars
is a new winery up in Calistoga with a ton of wines and a outdoorsy-feeling tasting room. I had the pleasure of attending a BBQ and tasting on the pond-side veranda recently, and although they may not have quite as much room for your pup to run around as some of the others mentioned here, you’ll find a welcoming and educated staff who is happy to entertain you and your furry family member.

Hall
is dog-friendly and keeps most of their breakables out of paw’s reach. Right off the 29 and basically next door to pet-friendly Gott’s Roadside (formerly Taylors and featured in 7x7’s  100 Things to Eat+Drink Before You Die),  Hall has a shaded outdoor area where you can taste their renowned and wide array of wines while admiring their sculptures, vineyards and well-designed grounds.

I am really surprised about the excellent job that you have made in this blog, which contains very important and amazing content about "Mozilla Service Week Volunteer", it allows everyone to express a variety of opinions, this web site is pretty cool like free bets

I appreciate these types of lists - although I like dogs, I don't love them allover the grounds of the wineries I visit, or attempting the crotch sniff or any of the things they like to leave behind. We visited the Dog Winery near Healdsburg and all I could smell was wet dog in the place which meant the wine tended to "taste" that way too. So kudos to you folks that can't live one moment without Kujo and have places to visit together, but thank you for these lists for the others that prefer a pet-free, dander-free, poop-free zone.

Don't forget Long Meadow Ranch Winery & Farmstead! Right in St. Helena, with farm-scaped grounds, pleanty of shaded and outdoor tasting/dining. Perfect for the pooch!

Don't forget Ideology Cellars and Silenus Vintners at 5225 Solano Ave, Napa. They have a big fenced area next to their vineyard for the pooches to romp.

You forgot Jessup Cellars in Yountville - they post dog photos to their Facebook page, too - and Bouchaine. Bouchaine has a lovely back porch and their dog will come to greet you! Great place to start a day in Napa.

Mumm is a great place for dogs as well. They have water bowls and big cookie bones for the four-leggers and tasty bubbly with an amazing view for the two-leggers!

Dutch Henry winery should also be on this list http://www.dutchhenry.com/ They've got a team of 4-legged winery greeters!

Excellent article! do y'all have a list of dog friendly places in the city as well?

Heibel Ranch Vineyards is dog friendly too...your pooch can run around our 185 acre estate with "Chachi", our labrador pup!!!

Need to put a better photos of the dog, I recommend www.doggieportrait.com

This is awesome, I had no idea there were so many.

I've been wanting to know where I could roam around with my pup. And just in time for the season! Thanks.

You can also look up dog-friendly wineries (and kid-friendly and other options) on the Winery Finder on the Napa Valley Vintners website: www.napavintners.com

Your dog is so cute! It's nice to know I can bring my pup on my next trip to Napa. Thanks!
