The Bay Area is feeling the love with a host of celebrations marking the 50 years since the Summer of '67. Now, the City of San Francisco is joining the party.

Having rejecting several proposals for a concert that would have electrified the epicenter of the counterculture movement, the City is getting all DIY. San Francisco Rec and Parks announced this week that it will throw its own Summer of Love concert and light show, called the Surrealistic Summer Solstice, on June 21.

The free event will brighten up Golden Gate Park for the golden anniversary with a flower-powered celebration featuring 60s-inspired tunes, bites from Off the Grid food trucks, and a grand trippy lighting of the Conservatory of Flowers, where a rotating art projection will be on view until October.

The concert's line-up is being curated by the organizers of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and hearkens back to those good ole days. Look for jams from legendary local bands including Jefferson Airplane, ALO, Moonalice, Phil Lesh's Terrapin Family Band, and more. So yes, it's time to pull out those flower crowns and tie-dyed crop tops for a four-hour jam (and basically huge street party)—and feel the love.
