Maybe you've seen her around: big bright eyes, intelligent, turns a lot of heads? Poppy the AV is one of many self-driving autonomous vehicles ("AV") from Cruise driving the streets of San Francisco and getting people talking.

Along with her friends (NaeNae, Scampi, Pride, and Sourdough, to name just a few), she's on a mission to improve life in our cities and connect all of us with the places, people, and things we love. And while Poppy & friends aren't quite ready to open their doors to the public, she brings a very unique perspective of SF that's worth sharing.

Poppy first started perfecting the science of self-driving nearly seven years ago and has put in thousands of hours and miles getting to know San Francisco. Day or night, rain or shine, Poppy has seen just about everything our city has to offer. So who better to offer up some local intel on what's happening and where? Poppy might not look like an obvious cultural curator, but she's a local's local. And if you want to know who's lining up for what, and where, Poppy's your gal.

Poppy isn't just about navigating the 7x7 or which neighborhood has the best vibe. Her true mission is to serve people and get them safely and affordably where they need to go. If she can't take them, she'll bring it to them. Since the start of the pandemic, she's been partnering with the SF-Marin Food Bank and SF New Deal, serving communities in need. She and her friends have delivered more than a million meals, part of their permanent commitment to pledge one percent of their time to giving back to the city.

San Francisco is a busy city with an energy and an attitude that's unique. No two streets or neighborhoods are the same. Which is why Poppy started here. A driverless car that can safely navigate the streets of SF can drive anywhere.
