As one of the largest and most prestigious book fairs in the world, this treasured annual exhibition is known for showcasing a fine collection of rare and valuable books in a three-day fair for history buffs, art buffs, and bookworms alike.

From California's beloved Harvey Milk's first (failed) campaign poster to a Polish post-WWII protest for peace following violence incited by fake news, to frames of celluloid from the first feature film in the world, the book fair features treasures from nearly 200 booksellers around the world. Whether you're looking for manuscripts, autographs, finely bound books, or more, this fair is the place to discover something new—or something really, really old. Harvey Milk's First Campaign Poster

Harvey Milk—gay rights activist and the first openly gay person to be elected for public office in the history of California—campaigned with this poster in 1973, a few months after moving to San Francisco. Milk lost this campaign; but eventually won in 1977. (Bolerium Books, $3,500)
