How can San Francisco fashion compete with that of New York, Milan, Paris, and London? By leveraging what the city does best: technology. At Westfield San Francisco Centre, the new Bespoke coworking space is designed to seamlessly integrate fashion with tech.
Bespoke, a fash-tech and retail environment that doubles as a 37,000-square-foot, fully tricked-out event space, recently opened on the fourth floor of the Market Street mall, directly under the dome. The workspace has all the trimmings of your standard Bay Area startup—think bocce ball, sleeping nooks, and a bouldering wall—and is already home to a number of stylish young entrepreneurs who are hoping to disrupt the fashion and design industries. Here are a few of the space's inaugural pioneers:
Glanse sends users notifications when a brand they love is on sale. Shoppers who download the app can receive daily messages from one or more of its 1,500 partner companies, including Zara, Anthropologie, Nasty Gal, and Urban Outfitters.

PeakFoqus, launching in December, has designed a collection of smart watches, called Vytality, aimed at seniors and disabled people. The watches have fall detection, with emergency beacons, heart rate monitoring, activity level status updates...and they look cool too.
Focused on the business side of fashion, RetailNext offers in-store analytics and insights about shopper behavior to improve store performance, while SKUIQ is an integrated commerce platform for retailers with an online and physical store.

In addition to providing a work space for emerging talents, Bespoke also hosts well-known brands such as Bow & Drape, an online fashion brand that celebrates female self-expression through customized apparel, and Shoes of Prey, a global, multi-brand retail channel that helps women design their own shoes using an interactive 3D designer for the iPad.

Local brands will also have an opportunity to showcase and sell their collections in a physical pop-up shop at Bespoke. Westfield customers can try on polos and sweaters or comfy flannel shirts from SF menswear labels Blade + Blue and Pladra. Ladies, look for sexy-glam lingerie by Evgenia and trousers from Simple Pair, a just-launched collection from Jessie Liu, a recent Academy of Art University MFA grad.
