The Hotel Whitcomb invites you to experience a new expression of urban elegance at the intersection of rich tradition, modern sophistication, and the warmest West Coast welcome.

Located in the heart of San Francisco's theater district, Hotel Whitcomb enjoys a truly privileged address that allows guests easy access to many of the city's most famous attractions, as well as the financial district and the arts and technology hubs South of Market. The convenient Market Street location makes it effortless to hail an Uber, hop on BART or MUNI, or take a ride on the historic F line street cars to the waterfront or Castro.

Relaxing inside the Whitcomb's beautifully restored lobby is much like being transported to the glamorous days of a long bygone era. Surrounded by soaring ceilings, beautifully carved wooden moldings and granite columns, it is easy to evoke all the elegance of the gilded age or roaring '20s.

As you sit on one of the beautiful antique couches sipping a classic cocktail, local craft ale, or California wine, you almost expect to see one of the city's legendary denizens or famous visitors like Jack London or Rudyard Kipling step through the doors. It's one of the most beautiful and enjoyable spaces in the city delivering a truly memorable historic ambience complete with 19th century Austrian crystal chandeliers, antique Tiffany glass accents, and rare Janesero marble paneling.

Modern guest rooms have recently received a tasteful refresh and have comfortable beds, ergonomic work desks, and large flat screen TVs. All 459 guest rooms have fast WIFI and many offer city views overlooking the iconic City Hall and Market Street.

In addition to a well-equipped fitness center, Hotel Whitcomb also offers a café for morning coffee and breakfast, as well as an all-day gourmet takeaway market in the lobby with a wide range of locally inspired snacks and full meals. The marble topped lobby bar is open every evening from 5pm onwards serving a broad selection of local libations.

The hotel is well located to enjoy much of the city's celebrated cultural scene. The concierge team can recommend excellent restaurants, wine bars, and breweries nearby; several days a week, the city's largest farmers market sets up shop at United Nations Plaza. The Whitcomb is especially well situated for forays into the performing arts with the famous Orpheum theater across the street and the Opera House and Symphony Hall within a few blocks.
