PG&E and 7x7 Toast to San Francisco's Favorite Charity

PG&E and 7x7 Toast to San Francisco's Favorite Charity

By

The Bay Area is home to hundreds of charitable organizations making contributions, both big and small, within our community. To celebrate these efforts, Pacific Gas and Electric Company and 7x7 started an annual tradition (now in its fifth year) to help shine a spotlight on one stand-out organization by naming it "San Francisco's Favorite Charity."

After several months of fierce voting on 7x7.com (our highest ever!) and strong representation from a host of local charities, Haight Ashbury Psychological Services (HAPS) was awarded the winning title and a $10,000 grant. Last week, PG&E and 7x7 toasted all seven finalists at a special ceremony at 111 Minna.

For over thirty years, HAPS has provided low-cost mental health services to Bay Area individuals in need. With only two full-time licensed employees, as well as a dedicated team of volunteer interns, the clinic has continually supported local residents who would not otherwise be able to afford life-saving mental health care. HAPS co-directors Donna Zoll and Lisa Frankfort tearfully accepted the $10,000 grant.

The top six runners up, who each received $2,000 grants from PG&E, including 826 Valenica, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Mental Health Association of SF, Northern California Family Dog Rescue, SF Women Against Rape, and St. Anthony Foundation. Learn more about each finalist here

Even though this year's contest has drawn to a close, we encourage you to donate your time and resources to each of these worthy local organizations who work year-round to make the Bay Area a better place.

Congratulations to Haight Ashbury Psychological Services!
