East Bay's Top Female Chefs Unite for Charity Dinner

By

Ever wanted to have dinner with all of the East Bay's top female chefs in one sitting? Girls Incorporated of Alameda County (Girls Inc.) is hosting a special dinner where you can do just that.

From Cosecha’s Dominica Rice and Brown Sugar Kitchen’s Tanya Holland to Miss Ollie’s Sarah Kirnon the list of female executive chefs doing their thing in the East Bay is a mile long. These noted chefs will join forces in September to give back to the girls of their community through Taste, a cocktail soiree and seated dinner benefiting Girls Inc.

The menu includes dishes from Dominica Rice (Cosecha), Celeste Scott (Brown Sugar Kitchen), Sarah Kirnon (Miss Ollie's), Kim Alter (Daniel Patterson Group), Dionne Knox (Zella’s Soulful Kitchen), Preeti Mistry (Juhu Beach Club), Yang Peng (Wood Tavern), and founding chef chair Sophina Uong (Picán Restaurant). Cocktails mixed by: Andie Ferman (St. George Spirits), Zoe Carrasco and Jessica Moncada (Double Bar), and Francesca Romeo and Aimee Eade of (Cathedral Bar). Local female restaurateurs Shelley Lindgren (A16), Jenny Schwarz (Hopscotch), and Rebekah Wood (Wood Tavern) will also have a hand in the festivities.

Girls Inc. has been empowering the next generation of kick-ass females (and their families) through academic achievement programs and community mental health services for more than half a century.

Taste happens on Saturday, September 13 at the Rotunda Building in Oakland. Tickets start at $250, get them here.
