Modern Coffee, Oakland's first coffee taproom, celebrates four years in downtown Oakland with food and drink from a few of their favorite local purveyors. Look out for beer from Linden Street Brewery and goodies from Starter Bakery and Salt & Honey. Global Green USA presents its 9th annual “Gorgeous & Green Gala," a glitzy soirée and Jazz Age celebration featuring a cocktail reception, an elegant gourmet organic dinner plus wine pairings by Michelin-starred Chef Ken Frank of La Toque, a live auction, Eco-Accolades awards, live musical performance by a surprise musician, and an eco-couture runway fashion show. Blurb, the SF-based digital publishing platform will celebrate a select group of exceptional Bay Area recipe bookmakers with an event designed to showcase their talents. At the Blurb Epic Food Fest, feast on flavorful creations from everyday cooks and food bloggers who have used Blurb to showcase their passion projects. Participants include Sharon Garner, author of "Edible Artistry" and former owner of the award-winning Grainful Bread Bakery in Marin, and Sylvanna Sanchez, who preserved her Mexican grandmother's traditional recipes in "Las Receta de mi Abuela." 6 - 9 p.m., Stable Cafe, 2128 Folsom Street, (415) 552-1199.

Any lover of sauce should head to 18 Reasons and partake in The Flavors of Southeast Asia: Homemade Sauces. Lisa Murphy of Sosu Sauces will help guests explore the exotic flavors of turmeric, lemongrass, and galangal and share her methods for preparing a range of deeply flavored sauces, all inspired by her Asia travels.
