1. Lot 7 Opens in the Mission: The new Valencia St. seafood spot Lot 7 is filling a maritime niche in the neighborhood, starting with a happy hour that features $1 oysters, $4 glasses of wine, and $3 beers (with Belgian offerings from Hopf Dunkelweisse to Duvel). Once happy hour comes to a close, stick around for some grilled ahi tuna or dungeness crab mac and cheese from the regular menu. (Happy hour: Tuesday-Friday, 4-6 pm, at Lot 7, 974 Valencia St., Mission.)
2. Wo Hing General Store Tiki Night: For one night only, Wo Hing General Store mixologist Brooke Arthur is teaming up with Smuggler's Cove rum expert Martin Cate to host a celebration of tiki-bar drinks. Cate will whip up six different cocktails to serve alongside Arthur's acclaimed piña colada, while chef Michelle Mah will offer revamped pu-pu platters with bites like dungeness crab rangoon and fried mushroom spring rolls with a chile-mustard dip. (Monday, March 5, 6-10 pm, at Wo Hing General Store, 584 Valencia St., Mission.)
3. Gold Star Bar Arrives in Nob Hill: If you've been longing to return to your school days (but with a little more booze this time), head to the newly opened, classroom-themed Gold Star Bar (pictured above). With chalkboards, student desks, and a Pictionary night, this neighborhood joint's got all the elements of childhood, not to mention a full liquor license and a pool table. (Daily, 2 pm-2 am, 1548 California St., Nob Hill.)
4. Drink Me's Absinthe Soiree: February 29th only comes once every four years, so if you don't have any plans for your leap evening, consider a trip to Drink Me magazine's absinthe-themed bash at Rosewood. Your $29 admission gets you access to an absinthe tasting, absinthe-centric cocktails, a tarot reader, and possible green-fairy hallucinations. If you want to get in a little education, the $50 VIP ticket includes early entry and a special absinthe class. Tickets are here. (Wednesday, February 29, 7-10 pm, at Rosewood, 732 Broadway, North Beach.)
5. Wood Shoppe at Brick & Mortar Music Hall: The new monthly music series Wood Shoppe brings local and national emerging artists to Brick & Mortar Music Hall for a free night of performances (18+ only). This month, you can get down to the sounds of Burnt Ones, Blasted Canyons, Soft Swells, and DJ Turf-Yard while sipping on $5 Stoli cocktails and $3 Trumer Pils all evening long. If you get the munchies, the Fogcutter truck will also be parked outside for your delectation. (Tuesday, March 6, 8 pm, at Brick & Mortar Music Hall, 1710 Mission St., Mission.)
