Editors' Picks: Fazzolari's Lampblack, Farmgirl Flowers, & More

Here's what the 7x7 editors were thinking about this week when they should have been at work.

Farmgirl Flowers

Our third anniversary, and the huzz did good—real good—again, with the help of vibrant dahlias, fragrant lilies, and a guest appearance by cabbage, all wrapped in charming burlap by Farmgirl Flowers. Seasonal, local, stunning.

Bruno Fazzolari's Lampblack

Among the affected attempts at culture that litter the impossibly hip hood (we get it, guys, you dig beards and anything vintage), Tigerlily, a store specializing in niche perfumes, blasted onto Valencia Street like a hot shower. And with that, I urge you to head over to 973 Valencia to check out the works of SF-based Bruno Fazzolari—specifically, his complex fragrance, Lampblack. With notes of grapefruit, black pepper, nagarmotha, and vetiver, the light/dark scent received four stars (out of five) from revered perfume critic Luca Turin, who describes Lampblack as "a quiet, stylish, salubrious masculine."

Manka's Inverness Lodge

It's been around forever. But all new to me, it felt like a discovery, this hidden getaway in what feels like the farthest reach of the world. It's pricey, but one night in the Fishing Cabin feels like a long weekend. Have an extra long soak in the antique tub, and order the three-course dinner from Sir and Star to be delivered to your room and served fireside. For breakfast, warm morning buns in bed. Mmm.

Adidas Response Boost Techfit running shoes

Due to excessive in-office snacking, I have recently added running back into my exercise regime. These raspberry-colored beauties add a bounce to my stride as I'm flying down Lover's Lane in the Presidio.

Slaptop's "Sunrise"

A friend sent this to me late last week and it's become my song of the summer. The artist, who goes by Slaptop, is a college student (first name Luke, last name a mystery) who made this one night in his dorm room, and it's just perfect. Oh, and it's his only song, and he's performing it this Saturday at The Independent.

This bagel

The absolutely delicious and fattening plain bagel and nonfat chai latte I cheated on my juice cleanse with, from my favorite coffeeshop on 2nd Street, Chatz. Alas.
