Jessica Gliozzi and Justin Ball grew up just 10 minutes from each other in the East Bay, but they didn't meet until 2009 when they were both at Chico State. Finally two years ago, Ball asked his future bride...to attend his Super Bowl party. There was eventually an official date, and over a year later, they got engaged in Punta Mita.
But it was their shared hometown of San Francisco that inspired the couple's wedding weekend.
Welcome drinks were shared at Zeki's, the pair's neighborhood bar in Nob Hill; and farewell Irish coffees were served the morning after the wedding at the Buena Vista Cafe. But on the big day, only a suite at the Fairmont would do, where the group got ready for the ceremony while overlooking the city before catching some photo ops at Grace Cathedral as the cable car passed by.
And then the party bus arrived and it was all aboard to Bluxome Street Winery, the venue of this couple's dreams. They fell right away for the SoMa spot's rustic decor, with its twinkling glass light fixtures reminiscent of vintage wine jugs and just enough space to accommodate all of their guests while still feeling intimate.
They rolled with the understated, industrial look of the place, seeking to complement its natural woods and unique lighting with lots of fresh green garlands and metallic details. The bridal party's bouquets were simple and chic with a handful of ivory roses. Tea lights in geometric glass containers and monogrammed glasses were speckled across the tables for added warmth. Ball's only two requirements: gold cutlery and donuts.
After a mother-daughter dance in a special tribute to Gliozzi's late father, they cut the giant donut, drank all the vino, and danced the night
