Belgians Are Landing at 21st Amendment and Magnolia All Month

By

21st Amendment Brewery and Magnolia Pub & Brewery have again teamed up for Belgian Beer Month. As they have for the last five Novembers, the brewers have crafted a total of 12 unique Belgian beers as part of the BRU/SFO Project, also known as Belgian Beer Month.

These long-time collaborators are each releasing six Belgian-style beers in November, along with incentives to try them all. Each brewery currently has three specialty Belgians on tap and will release a new brew each week until they are serving a dozen between them.

Craft brewers love to make Belgian beers almost as much as we love to drink them. Belgian styles promote other flavors over hops through the use of top fermenting yeasts, warmer  fermenting temperatures, and ingredients such as fruit, orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise, and black pepper. Dubbels, tripels, quads, lambics, saisons, wild sour brown and red ales are all parts of the Belgian beer fleet.

If you want to catch the flight to Brussels from San Francisco, pick up a Boarding Pass for the BRU/SFO Project at either pub and collect a stamp for each specialty Belgian you drink. Collect all 12 stamps to receive the coveted BRU/SFO Project commemorative glass at either brewpub, while supplies last.

This year the breweries are offering something else besides great beer and a glass to enjoy it in: three lucky beer lovers will win a pub crawl with brewers Shaun O’Sullivan and Dave McLean. Each week during Belgian Beer Month, O’Sullivan and McLean will comb through Facebook, twitter and Instagram posts tagged with #BRUSFO, and pick one person they’d like to drink beer with. The winner will be announced each Monday on social media, starting November 11. The three winners will be invited to join the brewing duo on a pub crawl between the two breweries. Each winner will be allowed to bring a guest, and the evening will include beers, appetizers, entertaining conversation, transportation between the pubs, and shwag. If you’d like to join the #BRUSFO Pub Crawl, start tweeting, Facebooking and Instagramming with the hashtag #BRUSFO.
