Wedding Inspiration: A Gilded Garden Party at Livermore's Wente Vineyards

By

Anna Soi and David Mac met all the way back in ninth grade geometry, but it wasn't until many years later, on a chilly night in Paris, that Mac insisted upon a hot air balloon ride. When she looked down, she saw someone holding a sign—Will you marry me?—and turned to find her guy down on one knee.

Like the famous Parisian style, the couple's theme for their wedding was simple and clean with a hint of glamour. For their venue, they chose Wente Vineyards in Livermore, a California Historical Landmark with the lush grounds, winding vineyards, and wooded areas set against rolling hills.

Theirs was a traditional affair with an intimate tea ceremony followed by a classic celebration. The bridal party wore formal, floor-length gowns in different shades of white; the groomsmen donned sharp black suits.

The rustic event space was defined by exposed beams, arched doorways, and a row of chandeliers, beneath which the two walked down a petal-strewn aisle between clustered sets of candles and greenery. An all-white palette was accented with gilded touches—gold foiling and frames were used to create all the signage, menus, and seating chart; all of which the couple made on their own.

Afterward, the lovebirds strolled through the vineyards before making their way to the garden party-inspired reception, set with white linens and gold chairs. The newlyweds dined comfortably and shared toasts on a tufted sofa at their sweetheart table before hitting the dance floor, illuminated by twinkle lights.
